The Vimy Project

This project has carried on over a number of years. The Canadian National Vimy Memorial, in northern France not only stands as a tribute to Canadians who served during the First World War but is an iconic artistic representation of how societies memorialize. Its inscription clearly represents the essence of Canada. The monument is defined by location, standing against the sky and the elements. This work aims to not only respect the work of Walter Seymour Allward but to also provide a sense of the environment that the monument and battlefields exist in.
